ABOUT ONECARD
OneCard is a project of Upper Valley Vermont Libraries to enable patrons to use one card to borrow from any participating library. Please see the list of participating libraries below.
Library materials must be returned to the library you borrowed them from. Each library has its own borrowing policies, and participants will be responsible for following the policies at each library.
WHY ONECARD?
Libraries like to share! OneCard gives participating libraries a chance to serve all our patrons better by providing a greater choice and availability of materials.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ONE CARD AT HPL?
The following must be transacted at your home library:
*Interlibrary Loans
HPL does not loan the following items to OneCard holders from other libraries:
*Museum passes
SIGNING UP FOR A ONECARD
Hartland Library patrons in good standing may opt to participate in OneCard and must have been a member of the Hartland Public Library for at least six months. Fill out a short form at the library and you will get a yellow “OneCard” sticker to be placed on your library card. This identifies you as a OneCard borrower. OneCard patrons cannot place a hold on other libraries’ items. if you wish to place a hold, please submit and interlibrary loan request.
WHAT DO HPL PATRONS NEED TO KNOW TO USE ONECARD?
*Bring your HPL card with you to a participating library.
*Libraries have different lending policies. Be sure to ask the lending library if you have questions about loan periods or restrictions.
*Return your materials to the library where you borrowed them.
*Requests for ILL or holds should be made at HPL, which is your home library.
*Fees must be paid to the library where they were incurred.
