Memorial Funds and Estate Giving

Memorial funds and special targeted needs are continually evolving and the library director is happy to meet and discuss various options available for giving to the library. Estate giving is a generous gift that the library would appreciate. Please reach out to the library director for options.

The library will accept donations for The Friends of the Library Book Sale starting March 1st, 2025.

Please note, we cannot accept items that are damaged or that smell of mildew or mold. Also, will not accept encyclopedias, dictionaries, CDs, VHS tapes, magazines, or textbooks.
Please bring items to library staff during operating hours and do not leave items on our porch.
Please limit your donations to two boxes per visit, which will allow staff to process the books and move them down to our basement.

See more details Drag Story Time Drag Story Time May 3, 2025 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Drag Story Hour with Emoji Nightmare and Katniss Everqueer Drag Story Hour (DSH) is just what it sounds like...drag performers reading stories to children. DSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real. Emoji Nightmare and Katniss Everqueer, two of Vermont's favorite queer performing artists, will be sure to delight and captivate audience members of all ages as they share stories focused on individuality, activism, gender, creativity, expression, and social responsibility. The Hartland Public Library Board of Trustees oversees the Library’s operating and administrative policies, votes on and establishes Library policy, sets the institution’s strategic goals, and acts as an agent of public trust governing the Library. The Trustees work together with the Library Director to carry out governance and policy-making responsibilities, as well as financial and development oversight, and strategic planning. See more details AIH: The Joy of Movement AIH: The Joy of Movement May 22, 2025 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Join us for a session of movement with Kevin Comeau, director of Massage and Body Work at Open Door Integrative Health in White River Junction. In addition to a 32 year private focusing on myofascial release and deep tissue massage, Kevin has taught for the massage certificate program at River Valley Community College since its inception, and offers continuing education seminars in Vermont and New Hampshire for massage therapists and yoga teachers, and personal trainers. Kevin is a personal trainer with a special interest in geriatric and corrective exercise. He has practiced and taught traditional Japanese martial arts for four decades, as well as Tai Chi for 8 years, and teaches women’s self defense classes.
