The Hartland Public Library will be open by appointment
beginning June 3, 2021

Porchside service will still be available as well.

We’re excited and happy to announce that starting Thursday, June 3rd you will be able to make a 30 minute browsing appointment for a family unit of up to four people. Computer appointments will also be available. (The library will start taking appointments the week of May 25th.)

Here are a few things to know before you visit the library:

• Appointments will be 30 minutes in length Tuesday through Saturday

• Please call the library to make an appointment 802-436-2473. We will tell you what times are available and you can choose a time.

• Make sure you are feeling well before coming to your appointment. Do not come to the library if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 14 days.  

• Masks that cover your nose and mouth are required for anyone over the age of two years old. Please put on your mask before entering the building.  If you are unable to wear a mask we are happy to offer our porchside service and staff are available to assist you. 

• Children age 14 years and under are required to be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult party while inside the library.

• Magazines, newspapers, and children’s toys and games are not available at this time. Digital magazines from Flipster are available.

• You are welcome to use the first floor and second floor of the library. Please maintain a distance of 6 feet from all staff members during your visit. Staff will also be wearing masks and keeping distance.

• There is plexiglass installed at the circulation desk for safety during this close interaction. You may also use our new “meescan” self checkout station, or download the “meescan” self checkout app for your phone. 

• Please use hand sanitizer at the main entrance before entering the library and there is hand sanitizer to use in each room of the library.

• The indoor book return is not open at this time, please return all books in the outdoor book return before coming into the building.

• There is no public restroom at this time.

• Thank you for your patience and your willingness to adapt this past year to everchanging instructions and circumstances. We are excited to begin the process of reopening the building and interact in person with our library patrons again!
